What happens when a curious Black African traveller crosses Asia slowly?
During an extended stay in China, I repeatedly met backpackers from Europe and the wider West—but almost no Black African travellers moving through Asia in the same way. It was almost like africans don't travel for the sake of travel. And that was what I wanted to change.
Black Through Asia follows me as I explore the eastern part of the world, meet people, immerse myself in culture and experiences, and allowing the journey to challenge both my assumptions and that of the people I meet. It is a warm, intelligent and unscripted story about curiosity, identity, hospitality and connection.
